Six o'clock saints

From Preface: "These stories have been written with the object of making Children familiar with the Saints as Ordinary People to whom Interesting Things have happened. The Six-year-old is easily bored by 'good' stories, and I have tried to avoid this pitfall. Later on, when they are older, and they read 'devotional' Lives of the Saints, I hope they will remember these Special Stories and will say to themselves: 'Oh! That was the man who did such andn such a thing. He can't have been so bad after all!'"
